Whatsapp hits 1.5 billion Monthly active users

Despite all the battle from rivals, whatsapp is now recommended as the 2nd largest social network after facebook with the total number of 1.5 billion monthly active users.

Actually, whatsapp wasn’t originally own by Mark Zuckerberg (facebook and instagram CEO) but rather on February 19, 2014, he acquired WhatsApp for $19 billion and so far have kept it record of its largest acquisition to date.

WhatsApp now has 1.5 billion monthly active users who are exchanging nearly 60 billion messages on a single day.

In an earnings call after announcing the fourth quarter results, Zuckerberg said that Facebook-owned Instagram is now the most popular Story-sharing product, followed by WhatsApp.

According to TechCrunch, Both Instagram “Stories” and WhatsApp “Status” features now have 300 million daily active users (DAUs) — compared to 178 million Snapchat users.

To me, the reason for the speedboost of active users on whatsapp is because of its modded versions like Yowhatsapp, GB whatsapp, Whatsapp Gold, etc which comes with more amazing features.
