Sharp Launches Aquos R2 With Dedicated Video Camera, Snapdragon 845 SoC

Japanese smartphone manufacturer Sharp has unveiled a new smartphone called Sharp Aquos R2. The announcement took place in their hometown market. Looking at the newly launched Aquos, it is the company 2018 flagship and also the successor of the last year flagship via Aquos R.

One of the greatest highlight of the Aquose R2 is the processor as it comes with Snapdragon 845 SoC. It also has another interesting feature like a dedicated video recording camera.

The Sharp Aquos R2 comes with its own inbuilt Emopa AI assistant. It sports a dual rear camera setup with one dramatic wide camera and a standard camera. Also, the AI is able to click images automatically during a video shoot, a feature called AI Live Shutter works.

The smartphone is IPX5/ IPX8/ IP6X certified for dust and water resistance, and boasts of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for a richer multimedia experience.

Notably, the smartphone has currently only been launched in Japan, and pricing has not been revealed, but looking at their previous Aquos R and the R2 specifications, we are assuming the price will be around $500 (Approximately N180,000).
